2020 Mitsubishi Mirage to share platform with next Juke

The next-generation Mitsubishi Mirage will share a platform with the next Nissan Juke, which itself will share a platform with many other vehicles in the Nissan, Renault and Mitsubishi universe.
Khodrocar - The report comes from Japanese website Response, which also says Mitsubishi is targeting sportier hatches like the Suzuki Swift. The engine is expected to be either a 0.9-liter turbocharged inline-three, good for 94 horsepower, or a 1.5-liter four-cylinder turbodiesel. An all-electric version is rumored, but remember, these powertrains are for non-US markets.

The car will be built off of the Renault-Nissan CMF-B platform, a modular platform analogous to the VW Group's MQB platform. Currently, the Nissan Rogue, Rogue Sport, and the European-market Pulsar, as well as Renault Megane, Kadjar, Talisman, and Espace V are some of the vehicles built on the CMF-C and D platforms.

By 2019, the Mirage, Juke, Renault Clio and Captur, as well as the Dacian Sandero III and Logan III, will all share the CMF-B platform.

The report says that styling will be more aggressive than the current Mirage, with cues taken from the Colt Ralliart hot hatch and Lancer Evolution. The Mirage should appear in 2019 as a 2020 model.
